The Pattern is the first critical step in the production of iron sand castings. High quality castings can only result from a high-quality pattern. The Company has 170 years of experience that facilitates the engineering, design, and construction.

This experience also encompasses the science of metallurgy. This is referred to as the Gating System for each individual pattern. This is critical to the casting quality as its design is constructed for distribution of clean metal at a rate and velocity to a specific location in the mold.

This science is proprietary to Frazer & Jones and eliminates porosity, pin holes, blow holes, shrinkage and incomplete filling of the customers casting.

When the Pattern is complete, Frazer & Jones produces and evaluates samples to guarantee the customer’s requirements have been met for a successful production run.
